Ragdollridge is a small home based cattery run by Amber Heller located in Cambridge in Upstate New York. I work to provide you with the next healthy and happy member of your family! My furbabies conform as closely as possible to the Ragdoll Standards as set forth by TICA and I am a TICA registered Cattery. All of the kittens are raised underfoot with children of all ages (mine and my daycare kids), dogs, and other cats.
They will adjust to your home like they have always been a part of your family because they are a part of mine!
A Ragdoll is a large medium to long-haired cat breed that originated in California nearly 50 years ago. All traditional pointed RAGDOLLS have beautiful blue eyes. Mink Ragdolls have aqua colored eyes and many times an even softer coat than the traditional ragdolls! Ragdolls come in many colors and patterns with the common characteristic being their excellent temperament and their exceptionally soft easy maintenance coats which is not typical of long-haired cats. The beauty of the Ragdoll is only one of their many lovely features. Their disposition and personality are what makes them a truly unique cat. They are quiet, playful, placid, relaxed, and very loving. They make a wonderful house or apartment cat because they adapt well to the indoors. A Ragdoll should never be left outside unattended. They are docile, large, affectionate, and respond VERY well to children and other pets. Children should be watched around a Ragdoll kitten, but most Ragdolls raised with children (Like Ours!) will tolerate being "lugged" around the house and be happy to be played with. My 3 year old daughter Mackenzie carries around all of our Ragdoll Kittens (with supervision) and some of the adults that are small enough for her to pick up and they actually seek her out!
You know they truly adore their humans by how they greet and follow you everywhere.
Ragdolls are slow to mature physically obtaining full maturity between 3 and 4 years of age. Altered adult males can reach 15-20 pounds or more; females will weigh about 5 pounds less. Ragdolls fur is rabbit-like, medium long with LITTLE shedding mostly in the spring and fall. A quick brushing will keep that under control and the fur is so soft that you will both enjoy the time!
